Teachers Training and National Workshop at Kathmandu

Kathmandu, 11 April: NTUC and JILAF organized two programs consecutively from 17 to 20 April 2011 at Kathmandu. Teachers Training program was held on 17th and 18th April where 9 teachers and 9 sub-teachers from different informal schools run by JILAF and NTUC participated. The program was facilitated by two trainees who imparted knowledge and provided teachers training. They focused on different teaching and learning methods and further they discussed about the curriculum and reviewed the text-books.
The second program, National Workshop was held on 19th April 2015. The program basically focused on the achievements of the nine informal schools. The workshop included discussion session where problems and constraints regarding the operation of schools were discussed. The future plan of action of JILAF was also talked about. A total of 40 participants including teachers, Sub teachers, program coordinators and 9 NTUC district presidents attended the program.
Mr. Khila Nath Dahal, President of NTUC chaired the program. He expressed his gratitude towards JILAF for providing support to run the informal schools. He also talked about the accomplishments of the schools. The program was also attended by guests from JILAF, Japan – Mr. Riyo Saito, Ms. Ashako Yanase and Mr. Laxman Shahi. They also provided insight to the participants regarding school operation.
