Nepal Trade Union Congress successfully held its National Council
Nepal Trade Union Congress held its National Level Council on 3rd and 4th February at Anmol Banquet, Kathmandu. The 2 Day program was chaired by NTUC President Mr. Khila Nath Dahal while Chief Guest of the program was Chairman of Nepal Congress party and Former Prime minister Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba. Similiarly, Special guest were: Senior leader of Nepali Congress party Mr. Ramchandra Poudel, General Secretary of Nepali Congress Mr. Sashank Koirala, Treasurer of Nepali Congress Mrs. Sitadevi Yadav, Honorable minister for Labour and employment Mr. Suryaman Gurung and honorable minister Mr. Dilip Gachyadhar (Rajya Mantri). Similiarly, Other attendees were: Mr. Hiroyuki NAGUMO - President-JILAF, Ms. Charito Riley - Country Program Director Solidarity Center/Sri Lanka Office, Mr. Rajendra Acharya - Assistant Regional Secretary, UNI-APRO, Mr. Richard Howard Director- ILO Nepal Office, Mr. Dev Raj Dahal- FES Nepal, Head, Mr. Laxman Basnet - General-Secretary SARTUC, Mr. Noriyuki Suzuki- General Secretary ITUC-AP. Simlarly, Law maker and NTUC national adisory committee member Mr. Puskar Aachary, Senior-vice president of NTUC Mr. Ramjee Kunwar, Vice-President Mr. Ganesh Niraula, Vice-President Mr. Ayodhya Yadav were also honored the program.
President presented the Vision Paper of Nepal Trade Union Congress. He vouched the objectives, plan, vision, policy and goal of the labour organization. After the inaugural Ceremeony and Welcome speech by Puskar Aacharya, Deepak Tamang(President of Nepal Tea Union), Ganesh K.C(President of FIEUN), Tej Prasad Rijal(President of NEHSKWU), Close Session (Presentation of Reports) were held where representatives of every province presented their reports and status of NTUC.
Later, Organization's Report was put into the participants by General Secretary of NTUC Mr. Mahendra Prasad Yadav. He explained the activities of Nepal Trade Union Congress. Similiarly, Treasurer of NTUC Mr. Yogendra Kumar Kunwar explained the financial report in which the economic activities includiing expenditure and income of NTUC. The workshop was also held in the topic: Employment Policy in Nepal and its implementation with the 7 province where Affiliates from different district took part. The program discussed about State Restructuring & NTUC in Province Structure and also invited some volunteers from the floor to present their view.
At last, the topic about the constitution revision was postponed and handed over to NTUC Central Committee to make conscious and come with final revised Constitution. President addressed the floor and gave final remarks of the program and promised to take every conflicting matter to resolve via discussion. Also, The Jiterry in the participants for the upcoming election were also seen before the starting phase.
