Nepal Trade Union Congress representatives meets delegate of International Labour Organization (ILO)

Nepal Trade Union Congress representatives meets delegates of ILO at Nepal Trade Union Congress meeting hall, Anamnagar, Kathmandu. Nepal Trade Union Congress President Mr. Khila Nath Dahal, Senior-Vice president Mr. Ramjee Kunwar, Vice-president Mr. Ganesh Niraula, Women Vice-president Ms. Rama Poudel, NTUC central committee member Mr. Aatma Ram Poude, Pratima Shah , NTUC women president Ms. Sudha Dahal, NTUC youth president Mr Baladev tamang and NTUC senior officer Mr. Rammani Pokharel were the representatives from NTUC. From ILO, country director for Nepal Mr. Richard Howard, Program coodinator Mr Prakash Sharma, OSH, Migration, Employment experts from ILO also took part in the meeting.
Mr. Sharma started the program and President Dahal lit up the introduction session. He gave the information about Nepal Trade Union Congress and explained the objectives, goals and visions of the organization. He also applauded the continuous struggle of social security bill which is reccently passed by majority of the parliament and also the success of revised labour law. The present situtation of NTUC and its protest against the new industrial act was also breifly mentioned by him.
Likewise, the migration experts from ILO asked the concern of Nepal about its shortag of Labour in the market, NTUC's network in destination countries Also, employment experts queried the amount of money that is to be deposited into the national welfare fund and social security fund. Mr. Dahal clearified the questions and also ge some relevant examples of the existing situation.
The program went for about 2 hours which was for the discussion, interaction, possible collaboration and areas to joinlty conduct the activities between NTUC and ILO. The meeting was for the pre-planning and preparation of the Decent Work Country Program project.
