NTUC organized Rally program on the International Labour Day
May 2, 2018, Kathmandu.
On the occassion of International Labor Day (May Day), 2018, Nepal Trade Union Congress organized Rally program. The rally Program started from Bhadrakali and concluded in Balmiki Campus, Putalisadak, Kathmandu. More than 5,000 people participated in the rally program. 25 affiliates Union of Nepal Trade Union Congress participated in the demonstration campaign.
Furthermore, the program concluded in the mass gathering where profound personnel from labour concern authority took part. The mass gathering program was chaired by NTUC president Mr. Khila Nath Dahal, Law maker Mr. Pradip GIri was chief guest, Law maker Mr Gagan Kumar Thapa, Nepali congress central member Mr. Bishwa Prakash Sharma, ILO Country Director Mr. Richard Howard, WSM Nepal representative Mr. Bruno were the special guest of the program. Also, NTUC delegates Senior Vice-president Mr. Ramjee Kunwar, Vice-president Mr. Ganesh Niraula, Mr. Aayodhya Prasad Yadav, Ms. Rama Poudel, General Secretary Mr. Mahendra Prasad Yadav, Deputy General Secretary Mr. Sanjay Mishra, Ms. Asha Singh Rathor, Mr. Janardan Niraula. President and member of various affiliates union. Central member of NTUC.
During the program, Mr. Giri told that we must respect labour force, the nation will only be prosperous when labour rights and responsibility will be addressed. In the meantime, Mr. Gagan Kumar Thapa said that Nepali People are labourous people and we must respect their various skills. Government must make plans and policy for the employment generation inside the nation, he added. Likewise, Mr. Bishwa Prakash Sharma told that youth is the focal point of development, without them the economic development are hard to imagine, he exclaimed. The chairman of the program Mr. Khila Nath Dahal urge that May day must be celebrated in the whole year. NTUC is the pure organization that has been vouching for the labour rights and responsibility inside ad overseas. Also, Mr. Rmajee Kunwar, Ms. Rama Poudel, Mr. Ganesh Niraula, Mr. Aayodhya Prasad Yadav, Mr Richard Howard, Mr. Bruno talked about the labour situation all over the world.
The program was echoed by NTUC General secretary Mr. Mahendra Prasad Yadav. He faciliated the program providing historical background, context, existing situation about labour. The rally program started from 11:00 am and ended into the mass gathering at 3:00 pm. People raised several slogans during the program about labour rights. and concerns.
