NTUC organized a memorial program on the occasion of late GP Koirala's Birth Centenary

Founder President of Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC), former President of Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister late Girija Prasad Koirala's birth centenary was marked today by Nepal Trade Union Congress, Central Committee at its office in Anamnagar, Kathmandu. NTUC President and other officials offered garlands at the statue of late GP Koirala on the occasion. NTUC officials, representatives from affiliates, staffs and well-wishers also paid tribute to late Koirala on the occasion.
Late GP Koirala is the founder President of Nepal Trade Union Congress. Late Koirala had organized workers in Biratnagar Mills Area and had established Nepal Mazdoor Sangh on 4th March 1947 to raise voice for rights to organize, increase in wages, improvement in working conditions, and suitable provision of housing for the workers. The movement holds a special place in the democratic movement in Nepal as it brought awareness among the general workers.
Former President Koirala had spearheaded the epochal peace process to bring the then rebel CPN (Maoist) that had waged armed struggle to mainstream politics and establish a republic in the country. Koirala had served the country as a five-time Prime Minister and NC President for a long time.
