National Workshop for SGRA Nepal Fy 2016 held at Yak N Yeti, Kathmandu

February 9, 2017, Kathmandu.

In the joint coordination of Nepal Trade Union Congress and JILAF, National Workshop for Supporting Grass Root Activities held at Yak N Yeti, Durbarmarg, Kathmandu. The Workshop program was to summarize, conclude and way forward of the SGRA project that has been running in the 9 district of Nepal. Honorable State Minister of Labour and Employment Mr. Dilip Gachhadar was the chief guest of the program. Mr. Khila Nath Dahal - President of Nepal Trade Union Congress chaired the Program. Similarly, Mr. Hansh Ram Pandey, Director of FNCCI, Mr. Richard Howard, Director of ILO Office in Nepal, Mr. Shinya Machida, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of Embassy of Japan in Nepaal, Mr. Hiroyuki Nagumo, President of JILAF were the guest during the program. 

Mr. Gachhadar applauded the steps taken by NTUC and JILAF. He also added to come the organization with the vision and also help the government to address the problems. Similarly, President of NTUC urge Government of Nepal to safeguard the education sectors and make plan and policy in its fiscal year calender in order to make the nonformal education formal. Director of FNCCI, Mr. Pandey gave admiration to NTUC and JILAF for the effort and vowed to help in all matters.Similarly, Mr. Richard Howard told that ILO has considered the activities of NTUC and JILAF and has allocated the budget for these kind of project. He also said that ILO is always and will be available for the support and help for the sake of the workers around the world. Also, Mr. Machida highlighted the importance of the project and also assured to vouch for the alliance to Japan government and stakeholders. Accordingly, Mr. Nagumo, president of JILAF praised the project activities and its outcome. People are benifitting from it, he added.

The workshop was anchored by Mr. Dharma Bhandary. During the workshop, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Morang, Parsa took part. The program also comprised of photo session where Chief Guest, Chairman, Guest, Participants, NTUC representatives chessed. The project activites review was presented to the floor by individual distrrict. Strength, weakness, opportunity and suggestion/way forward were put by wach regions.

Followingly, Mr Ryo Saito, Deputy Secretary General of JILAF and Ms. Yuki Otsuji, Deputy Representative of JILAF-Thailand presented Vision and ctivity Plan for Fy 2017 and Beyond. The session was trailed by Group discussion on the Vision and Activity Plan and also presentattion of Outcome of Discussion and Comments were later held.

At last, the workshop successfully met the goal as planned and the Closing remarks were given by president of JILAF Mr. Nagumo and General Secretary of NTUC, Mr. Mahendra Prasad Yadav. They all gave gratitude to all the participants, guest, Ntuc officials, representatives and the staff of the hotel management committee.
