NTUC Education Department friday weekly program concluded at NTUC meeting hall

March 3, 2017, Kathmandu.

Nepal Trade Union Congress held friday weekly interaction program here at NTUC central office. The program is regularly organized by NTUC Education Department and was chaired by NTUC Women commitee president Ms. Sudha Dahal. The Chief Guest of the Program was NTUC President Mr. Khila Nath Dahal and the guests were NTUC vice-president Mr. Ganesh Niraula, Vice- president Mr. Ayodhya Prasad Yadav, Women Vice-president Ms. Rama Poudel, President of Nepal Beautician Union Ms. Bhagwaoti Khadka, NTUC central committee member Ms. Meena Neupane, Mr. Surya Nepal, NTUC youth committee President Mr. Baldev Tamang, NTUC kathmandu President Mr. Ganesh Bhattarai and so on.

The program was anchored by youth president Baladev Tamang and the oppening remarks was given by the coordinator of NTUC education department Mr. Khagendra Khatri. He told that the program is organized for the 107th International women's Day. So ther will be women related issues in this session, he explained. The key speakers of the program were Ms. Shriju Niraula who is studying BBA in Apex College, Mid-Baneswor, Kathmandu, Nepal. She explained the  imporatnce of women and described about the evolution of women rights by giving the example of South Africa movement. She also empowered the floor by telling this international day slogan is "Be Bold for change" , she also vowed that in order to change the dimension of men and women in the soiety, we have take constraints of education, culture, religion and so on.

Likewise, Prsanna Basnet who is an enterpreneur and also owns a factory which consumes the raw materials from domestic market and also has the employee of 22 is currently able to provide an exmaple of women as well as youth motivation. She on the otherhand, told that, we have to provide the emploment instead o searching it. But there is many hurdles for a women and youth to move forward in the market, the government and society in place of providing the support and assistance, they are skeptics about it. So, Be the cchange in the society howeer hard it is, she aid.

Similarly, NTUC president Mr. Dahal applauded both key speakers. He also said mentioned the recently published article about women position in Nepal and said that Nepal stands 1st in Asia regarding the women participation. He also highlighted the number of students appearing in the School Leaving Certificate and protrayed deep satisfaction as women perccentage is high in the education sectors.Education, Awareness and employment is greater factors for the women youths. So, we will seek a way forward by involving them through youth committee.

Also, NTUC women vice-president Ms. Rama Poudel applauded the program and told that in cse of unionization it will play an important role. The key speakers are from our own family and if they will move forward then then it will benefit the Union by the organization expansion. She also addressed concern about the challenges for women. Women were not even safe to wake outside in the initial stage of democratic estabilization but now they is drastic change and women go and grab the opportunity, she added.

Prior to that, NTUC vice-president Mr. Ayodhya Prasad Yadav said that the international organiation are also creating opportunity to the women and youth. He also gave example of JILAF in which most of the enterpreneurs are women. Followingly, Vice-president Mr. Ganesh Niraula retorted that eventhough women have been granted the percentage in the constitution and in the various organization, it is the participation and dedication that is required in the women. So, everyone including family, society must raise this propaganda, she echoed.

NTUC youth committee president Mr. Baladev Tamang gave examples of supporting nature. He said that there are various articles, books and publication and has been an effective towards researchers and academicians.

At last, the closing remarks was given by the chairman of the program Ms. Sudha Dahal. She mentioned some previous situation of women committe even in NTUC and told that it was only a show piece and she was always called as an coordinator. But now the scenario has been changed ther is voting system and the organiation as well as the country has been practicing the democratic system. Thus, it is the women that has to come forward now, she also demanded some of the key participants to come up with the skill, empowerment, vocational and life sustainable program. She lauded the concept of the program later and wishes best of luck. She also invited everyone one and their intimates, friends, family to be in the 107th International Women's Day at Bhadrakali Temple Sudhara, Kathmandu Nepal.
