NTUC Education Department held discussion and interaction program at UN House

May 19, 2017, Lalitpur.

Nepal Trade Union Congress education department held weekly good friday program at UNDP meeting hall, UN House, Lalitpur. The main objectives of the program was to gain and share the information about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). NTUC President Mr. Khila Nath Dahal, Vice-President Mr. Ganesh Niraula, Women Vice- President Ms. Rama Poudel, General Secretary Mr. Mahendra Prasad Yadav and Treasurer Mr. Yogendra Kunwar were the representatives in the program. Also, Nepal Trade Union Congress 25 affiliated Union president or their representatives and district president from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur participated in the program.

Mr. Kamal Raj Sigdel, program officer of UNDP started the program and later opened the floor for the introduction. He later on gave brief information about UNDP and the concept of Sustainable Development Goals. Followingly, Mr. Basudev, a senior econmic advisor for UNDP explained detail about MDG and the concept of SDG derivation. He encripted the target goals that will be meet for the year 2030. The 17 target 169 priority areas were presented by him during the whole session.

In the end, the program went for some interaction and some even queried in some issues like Civil Society Organization. Nepal Trade Union Congress president Mr. Dahal formally gave closing remarks. He gave vote of thanks to all the attendees and also applauded the UNDP officials for sharing their inovative ideas. The program finally concluded with some photo session between the participants.
