11th Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Day Observed

21 March, 2021, Kathmandu. Nepal Trade Union Congress celebrated 11th Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Day at Kathmandu, Nepal. Labour Leader and founding president of Nepal Trade Union Congress Late Girija Prasad Koirala was also former Prime Minister of Nepal. Bro. Puskar Acharya, president of Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) was the chairman of the program. Senior Leader of Nepali Congress, respected Ramchandra Poudel was Chief Guest and Central Member of Nepali Congress, respected Arjun Narsingh K.C and Past president of Nepal Trade Union Congress were special guest of the program.

Likewise, Central Member, 27 affiliates union, members of kathmandu, bhaktapur, lalitpur, advisory committee of Nepal Trade Union Congress were also present during the program. Vice president of NTUC Brother, Tejendra Jung Karki, President of Garment Workers Union (NGWU), President of Local Level Workers Union of Nepal Brother Nar Bahadur Saud, President of Nepal Embroidery, Handicraft, Sewing and Knitting Workers Union (NEHSKWU) Brother Tej Prasad Rijal gave welcome speech.

Past President Brother Khila Nath Dahall said that he always rember Late Koirala for his coordination. He always told that where there is workers there is Nepali Congres. Also, respected leader Arjun Narsingh K.C said that Late Koirala always cared for Nepalese workers and epecially Nepal Trade Union Congress. He also vouched that the government of Nepal is only advertising for the sake of popularity. Also, Chief guest respected Ramchandra Poudel stressed that Nepali Congress is the only party that has addressed problem of Nepalese workers. He also said that recent government has lost concensus of parliament and have to resign as soon as possible. President of Nepal Trade Union Congress, Brother Puskar Acharya stressed deep concern about Nepali Congress exclusion of Workers representatives in the party. He also gave examples of leftist party providing inclusion and reservation to workers leaders.

The program started from 12:30 pm and ended at 4 pm. Nearly 500 spectators were present in the memorial program. The program was hosted by Nepal Trade Union Congress General Secretary, Brother Yogendra Kumar Kunwar.
